Materials and Design Exchange (MaDE)® challenges material scientists to consider applications and provides product designers with material and making options, thus turning ideas and technologies into products the market wants.

The MaDE Partners are Barron Gould, Crafts Council, Creative Interfaces, Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3), Institution of Engineering Designers, Innovate UK KTN, Royal College of Art and University College London.

The MaDE Advisors are Professor Geoff Kirk (University of Nottingham) and Ben Watson (3M). Professor Clare Johnston and Phil Brownsord are Honorary Advisors.

We have joined forces to expand the range of events, research and knowledge sharing that MaDE has provided since 2005/6 – from the role of weight in product design to 3D printing materials and smart textiles.
