Materials for Energy Storage in Electric Vehicles and Low Carbon Grids – Opportunities and Challenges
This year’s lecture will discuss the role of energy storage in low carbon transport and low carbon energy systems with a focus on the material requirements for these applications. Particular attention will be paid to advances and challenges in lithium ion batteries, flow batteries and electrolysers/reversible fuel cells, and will draw on the speaker’s own research in these areas.
Headline Speaker
Professor Nigel Brandon OBE FREng FIMMM
Dean of Engineering at Imperial College London, Director of the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Hub, and Co-Director of the UK Energy Storage Hub
