John manages the KTN Materials and Design Exchange (MaDE) group, which integrates the materials science, design and making communities to accelerate innovation. He has a background in manufacturing, inclusive design and product development, including roles at Michael Peters Group and the Royal College of Art. In 2015, John launched a KTN initiative to stimulate the market for dementia-friendly products and environments, and has collaborated with the Alzheimer’s Society, BSI, Arup and leading academics to create a regional innovation panel which supports SMEs with user insights and technical and commercial expertise.
